SPH offers help with menopause

South Peninsula Hospital is holding a fun and informative evening with a focus on menopause at the Best Western Bidarka Inn at 6 p.m. April 17. Dr. Hillary Seger, obstetrics-gynecology board-certified, will present information about what menopause means to a woman and her body, and how to identify and manage symptoms. Ramona Pearce, an instructor at Many Rivers Yoga, will demonstrate poses to help relieve menopause symptoms. A light supper will be provided featuring foods with naturally occurring compounds which potentially offset some unpleasant symptoms of menopause. In addition, Meredith Morphew, registered nurse and community health educator, will offer a menopause information table at Safeway from 3:30-5:30 p.m. today.

These offerings are free and open to the public. For more information, call the SPH Education Department, 235-0285.
