Seaton meetings canceled
Rep. Paul Seaton, R-Homer, has canceled town hall meetings scheduled this weekend in Ninilchik and Homer so he can attend memorial services for his father. George Seaton, 104, died March 14 in California. Seaton will attend services for his father on Saturday. Speaker of the House Mike Chenault and Rep. Kurt Olson will hold a town hall meeting 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly Chambers in Soldotna, but Seaton will not attend that meeting. Chenault will provide copies of Seaton’s newsletters. Newsletters also are available online at www.housemajority.org/seaton.
DMV goes to shorter hours soon
The Homer Division of Motor Vehicles office will have shorter office hours from March 27 to May 10 due to staff leave. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Borough’s stream task force holds meeting in Anchor Point
The Anadromous Fish Habitat Protection Task Force holds a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Anchor Point Senior Center, Milo Fritz Road. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public comments on proposed amendments to Kenai Peninsula Borough Ordinance 21.18, an ordinance that added additional water bodies subject to anadromous fish habitat protection.
City, state offices closed Monday
City of Homer and state of Alaska offices are closed Monday for Seward’s Day. The Homer City Council also does not meet Monday, and instead meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Homer City Hall.
