Writer signs latest in book series

Anchorage area writer Bonnye Matthews signs “Zamimolo’s Story: 50,000 B.C.,” from 1-3 p.m. June 7 at the Homer Bookstore. “Zamimolo’s Story” is the third book in her “Winds of Change” series of novels set in prehistoric times.

Her first book, “Ki’ti’s Story: 75,000 B.C.” and her second book, “Manak-na’s Story: 75,000 B.C.” both won the Alaska Professional Communicators first-place award for fiction. The first book is about Neanderthal, Cro magnon and Homo Erectus early humans meeting after a supervolcano eruption in southern China. The second book follows a tribe of early humans who travel to Mexico.

“Zamimolo’s Story” follows the migration of Neanderthals to the Americas. Matthews says that her books are based on recent research suggesting people could have visited America before the Clovis period of 11,700 years ago. The novel includes an introduction analyzing theories of early human settlement in the Americas. Matthews’ books will be on sale at the Homer Bookstore and are available through www.publicationconsultants.com.
