College offers art, writing classes in January

The University of Alaska Anchorage Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College offers a variety of visual and literary arts classes next semester, including Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Painting with Asia Freeman, Beginning Ceramics with returning instructor Carl Bice and Film Studies with Michael Walsh. 

A 15-week creative nonfiction class will be held by writer Miranda Weiss at noon Tuesdays starting Jan. 14. University of Alaska Fairbanks professor and poet Sean Hill holds a poetry workshop Feb. 21-23 and a public reading Feb. 22. Homer writer Rich Chiappone teaches a three-session class, Writing the Outdoors.

Many classes begin the week of Jan. 13. Register online at www.kpc.alaska.edu./kbc or walk-in daily from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Advanced registration is required. Call 235-7743.
