Halibut Cove Live music series starts July 7

Quiet Place Lodge and the Homer Foundation present Halibut Cove Live, a music and dining series held weekends in July at the lodge in Halibut Cove. All concerts include transportation to the lodge, meals prepared by local and Alaska chefs, and music. Tickets are $160 per person and benefit the Homer Foundation. Music is performed on a floating amphitheater by the lodge. Tickets can be purchased at the Homer Foundation, 3733 Ben Walters Lane, lower level, or call 235-0541. Upcoming events are:

• 1-5:30 p.m. July 7, Wild Shore Festival for New Music; catered by Carri Thurman of Two Sisters Bakery. Wild Shore cultivates southcentral Alaska’s new music community. Performing is TRANSIT, a new music ensemble from New York, featuring Homer-raised musicians Conrad Winslow and Kelsey Christian and Fairbanks-raised musicians Katie Cox and Andie Springer. 

• 1-5:30 p.m. July 21, Todd Grebe and Cold Country, catered by Carri Thurman. Started in Alaska and now living in Nashville, Tenn., the band plays original honkytonk roots music that ranges from bluegrass to blues and beyond.

• 5-9:30 p.m. July 27, Dan Mac Quintet and John “Pypes” Teamer; catered by Frans Weits of Jack Sprat, Girdwood. For its 907 Central Tour, the group also includes John Damberg on vibes, Cam Cartland on drums, Ray Booker on bass and John “Pypes” Teamer on vocals.
