Surfing film to show again Dec. 1 at Homer Theatre

“Alaska Sessions,” a film about a month-long surfing trip from Sitka to Homer, shows again at 1 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Homer Theatre. Admission is $8.

Shot in November and December of 2010 and directed, produced, written, photographed and edited by Frederick Dickerson and Matthew McNeil, the film follows a crew of surfers on Mike McCune’s decommissioned fishing boat, the Milo, as they travel up the isolated Alaska coastline in winter. McCune was joined by local resident surfers and adventurers Scott and Stephanie Dickerson, Don “Iceman” McNamara, Donna Rae Faulkner and Wendy Kinnier McCune.

“‘Alaska Sessions’ explores the diverse lifestyles and unique opportunities that are available to Alaskans, while touching on the beauty and severity of the Alaskan landscape,” Dickerson said.
