South Peninsula Hospital hosts the Homer Chamber of Commerce “Business After Hours” from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, March 15.

The free event is open to the public. All are invited to visit the new Neurology and Sleep Clinic and tour the recently remodeled Surgery Department, including the new operating rooms. Visitors park near and use the lower level Bartlett Street entrance.

The remodel and updating of the operating rooms project included abated asbestos, installation of a new air handler for proper air exchange, temperature control and humidity, installation of a rooftop chiller, bringing the rooms up to code for electrical, plumbing and physical elements, and renovation of the related hallway, changing room and flooring.

The project was voted on last year and publicly funded with service area funds through the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

The Sleep and Neurology Clinic was recently relocated from a building near the hospital to the lower level of the main hospital building near the Rehabilitation Department.

The new clinic includes two sleep study rooms which convert to consult rooms in the daytime for visiting neurologists from Peak Neurology.

There will be refreshments and door prizes. For more information, contact Derotha Ferraro at 235-0397.
