Mariners fall to Nikiksi

The Nikiski boys notched a 55-52 overtime win over Homer on Tuesday in Nikiski in Southcentral Conference play.

Homer controlled most of the game, leading 12-6 after one quarter, 25-16 at halftime and 37-27 after three quarters.

Seth Carstens then scored 14 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Nikiski boys back. Carstens’ free throws tied the game at 48 with 51 seconds left in regulation, and neither team could score in the rest of regulation despite several chances.
