Arts in Brief for week of March 9
Homer Storytellers hold their first gathering from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in the Homer Public Library conference room. “Our goal is to develop a group of storytellers of all ages who want to improve their storytelling skills and share stories with different audiences in Homer,” said Skywalker Payne, professional storyteller and co-organizer.
“Few things in life are as fun and rewarding as telling a good story to a receptive ear,” said Carol Ford, professional storyteller and co-organizer.
Last November, the Friends of Homer Public Library sponsored Homer’s first Tellabration, an international celebration of storytelling, observed the third week-end of November. An enthusiastic and interested audience led to the decision to begin this group. Homer Storytellers will meet the third Saturday of every month at the library. During these gatherings participants will share stories and gain skills in storytelling.
